Roman Chamomile Tincture

Roman Chamomile Flower Tincture, Ratio 1:5 in a menstruum of 45% Alcohol 96o and Highland Spring Mineral Water.

Roman Chamomile Flower Glycerite, Ratio 1:1 in a menstruum of organic food grade vegetable glycerine and Highland Spring Mineral Water.

Shake well before every use. Store in cool and dark place. After opening use within 3 months. Keep out of reach of children.

Take 5ml, 3 times a day or as directed by a Herbal practitioner, in water for three weeks. Stop the treatment for one week and repeat it for another 3 weeks. Continue the treatment as above, if necessary. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

For people who wish to avoid alcohol, an alternative is to use the Glycerite or add boiling water to the tincture and leave for 15 minutes for the alcohol to evaporate and the tincture to cool.

• If you are allergic to asters, daisies, chrysanthemums or ragweed, you may also be allergic to chamomile.
• Chamomile may cause drowsiness, so DO NOT take it and drive.

INTERACTIONS: If you currently take any of the following drugs, you should not use chamomile without first talking to your health care provider: 

• Blood thinning medications (anticoagulants and antiplatelets), as Chamomile may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with blood-thinners, such as  aspirin
• Sedatives (including also herbs, such as Valerian, Kava and catnip) as Chamomile can make their effect stronger.
• Blood pressure medications: Chamomile may lower blood pressure slightly. Taking it with drugs for high blood pressure could cause blood pressure to drop too low.
• Diabetes medications: Chamomile may lower blood sugar. Taking it with diabetes drugs could raise the risk of hypoglycemia or low blood sugar.

WARNING: Stop taking chamomile at least 2 weeks before surgery or dental work, because of the risk of bleeding.
